About this site:
This is a Drupal 7 website that makes use of the views, context, media, and colorbox modules.
The views module is a standard addon for any Drupalist that wants to get the most flexibility out of Drupal. It is such a pivotal module that it was added to the core of Drupal 8 (the newest inception of Drupal). There are so many uses for the views module, it is impossible to list them all.
The context module was implemented to further dial down the way content was handled and displayed. One of the drawbacks to Drupal core is, while you can use views to display, say images in a beautiful grid, clicking on the original content gets you back to the original boring format. Implementing context in conjunction with the views module keeps things on track and users looking at the view you intend. This is just one of many aspects of the context module.
Media module. As this site was needed to display all facets of my art a module was needed to help manage and 'move' them into content. The media module has given me that ability. If today I have a collection of images I want to add to the site, but I'm not sure what gallery I want to add them to, or exactly where I want to use them, I can add them to the Library now, and come back at a later date and add where needed.
With today being a more mobile world, I needed to add a a mobile friendly way to view the images. Colorbox was added and then the colorbox swipe module was added.
The theme of the site is ideas from others I have seen and incorporated into my own. It needs a few tweaks here and there, but I'm working on polishing it up.
